The Postgraduate Seminar in Interactive Technology runs continuously, throughout the academic year. The aim of the seminar is to improve your research skills, concentrating on the following types of presentations:

  • Present your research plan to refine it
  • Present your research results
  • Rehearse your conference talks
  • Give a talk describing your complete doctoral theses
  • Rehearse your Lectio Praecursoria

It is also possible that the program will include visiting lecturers and lectures on research, research methods, and statistics.

The role of audience is important in the seminar: active participation is assumed, and the audience is expected to comment and discuss the presentations. For research plans and rehearsals of conference talks we use named opponents in addition to audience participation. The diversity of topics means that the opponents often need to read and comment papers outside their specific expertise, but this is a useful excercise to broaden our view of the field.

All commentary on presented work is expected to be polite and supportive to the presenter, but well-grounded critique is always welcome.
