Grading

There are both presence points (PP) and credit units (CU). About 8 PP will get you one CU, depending on the number of seminar sessions per academic year (usually 8–9, varies depending on the demand).

The principles of how CUs add up are as follows:

  • Attending the seminar will give you 1 PP.
  • Attending 75% or more of academic year’s seminars will translate PPs into CUs.
  • Seminar sessions, in which you act as an opponent for another student’s presentation, give you two additional PPs.
  • Two full presentations at the seminar yield 1 CU. Short trip presentations do not count, but comprehensive reports do. A very large presentation may alone yield 1 CU.
  • For TAUCHI postgraduate students, it is possible to gain maximum of 10 CUs from this seminar.

Please note that IHTE has slightly different principle on grading.
